Exploring the Heart

RAJASTHAN, INDIA

Yoga Retreat

February 15 - 24, 2026

Jaipur, Udaipur, and Jodhphur, Rajasthan, India

Imagine a historical land of maharajas, stunning palaces, vibrant temples, and majestic elephants.

Experience the delight of colorful cities with bustling bazaars, traditional folk music, and art that will awaken your senses.

Then picture yourself retreating to tranquil spaces for quiet reflection and introspection.

Rajasthan, the land of kings, is an enchanting destination in the north of India, rich in diverse religious and cultural traditions. Above all, it is the warmth of the Rajasthani people that has touched our hearts. We envision Rajasthan as an ideal place for a journey of self-discovery and exploration of the heart.

Our 10-day pilgrimage begins in the Pink City of Jaipur. From there, we will travel across the region by private bus. We will also visit Udaipur, the city of lakes, and the blue city of Jodhpur.

As we journey, yoga will serve as a steadfast anchor, guiding us inward to reflect on the profound impact this place and its people have had on our hearts. Prepare to embark on a heart-centered, soul-stirring, and dynamic journey.

There’s a magical quality to Rajasthan, and we are very excited to share it with you.

  • Our Rajasthan retreat is much more than a yoga holiday. It’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in another culture and learn from the Rajasthani people. As with all Shared Pilgrimages, we will keep our group small - no more than 15 people!

As we get lost in the bazaars, forts, and temples of Rajasthan, you will also have the opportunity to get to know the people. From folk musicians to skilled artisans, the heart of Rajasthan beats in its people. Our intention for this journey is to help you discover more about India and also to turn inward to learn about yourself.

Bram will lead the outward portion of our journey. He will guide us through and explain Rajasthan’s cultural and historic sites.

Angela will guide the journey inward, teaching heart-centered yoga and meditation classes. She will help you dive deep within yourself to notice the imprint of this unforgettable place and its people.

“Thus travel spins us round in two ways at once: It shows us the sights and values and issues that we might ordinarily ignore; but it also, and more deeply, shows us all the parts of ourselves that might otherwise grow rusty. For in traveling to a truly foreign place, we inevitably travel to moods and states of mind and hidden inward passages that we’d otherwise seldom have cause to visit.” - Pico Iyer

Accommodation

Boutique Hotel in Jaipur

Our first accommodation is a recently designed boutique hotel that blends together impeccable design and Vastu (Indian architecture system of balancing energies). The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood of Jaipur away from the crowds.

On the rooftop, we will have our meals and practice yoga. There is also a small pool for cooling off if the temperatures are unseasonably hot.

Retreat Center in Udaipur

We have secured the exclusive rental of a beautiful, 8-bedroom yoga retreat in Udaipur. It is located down a quiet lane in the old city.

We will practice yoga on the rooftop shala overlooking the city. Our meals will be around the large neem tree in the courtyard. There is also a swimming pool. The hotel is within walking distance of all sights in Udaipur.

Restored Haveli (Traditional Home) in Jodhpur

We will be staying in the medieval heart of Jodhpur, beneath the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort. Our hotel is a beautifully restored haveli across the street from the traditional step-well. It’s located in one of our favorite parts of the city, with galleries, boutiques, and cafes nearby.

An $800 non-refundable deposit secures your spot on the retreat.

  • Pilgrims who have participated in previous Shared Pilgrimage retreats receive a $100 discount before July 1, 2025.

  • A second payment of $1,000 will be due by October 1, 2025.

FAQs

  • Many people who fly to India want to visit Delhi and the Taj Mahal in Agra. This retreat will not include visits to either, but we can help you out!

Angela and Bram will be in Delhi before the retreat. You may want to arrive in Delhi a few days early to adjust to the time change. We have hotels to recommend. We will also arrange for a walking tour of Old Delhi on Saturday, February 14.

After the retreat ends, you can choose to go to the Taj Mahal in Agra. The Taj is more beautiful than you can imagine. The only drawback is that the town of Agra is less inspiring. If you want to go to see the Taj Mahal, we can recommend a hotel in Agra and help arrange transportation to Agra at the end of the retreat.

These options are not included in the cost of the retreat. Additional charges will apply.

  • Travel in India

All international travel requires stepping outside one's comfort zone. If you have never traveled with us before, or have any questions about travel in the developing world, we ask that you have a chat with us before submitting your deposit.

    Weather

February is the ideal time to visit Rajasthan. The weather is warm and and sunny during the day. At night, the temperature cools off. Visitors should pack a range of clothing for sunny days and cool nights. The average daily temperature is 72º F during the day and 55º F at night.

    Amenities & Internet

Wi-fi access is complimentary. Laundry service is available for an additional cost.

  • What Airport Should I Fly Into?

Everyone should fly to Delhi International Airport. (You will purchase this flight.)

We will meet at Delhi Airport and fly together to Jaipur. We will fly together from Jodhpur back to Delhi at the end of the retreat. (These two domestic flights are included in the cost of the retreat.)

    What Airlines Do You Recommend?

Most airlines fly to Delhi. Air India, American Airlines, and United fly directly from New York to Delhi. Other airlines stop over in Europe or the Gulf.

What Time Should I Plan to Arrive and Depart?

Plan to arrive in Delhi no later than 6 am on Sunday, February 15, so you have time to meet us in the proper terminal for the flight to Jaipur. We will fly together to Jaipur.

If you are flying home on February 24, please book your flight departure no earlier than 6 pm. We will depart from Jodhpur at 10 am and fly together to Delhi. You will then need time to transfer to the correct terminal for your flight home.

What are good resources to look for Flights?

Our preferred search engine to first look for an international flight is Kayak. Expedia and JustFly are also good resources. We also recommend looking at an airline’s website after you find a flight on a search engine. There are sometimes better deals on the airline’s website.

How Long Should I Wait to Buy My Flight?

The recommended time to purchase international fares at the best deals varies. You’re likely to find the best deals 6 months to 3 months before your travel date.

Kayak also makes recommendations about when is a good time to buy a flight.

    Flight Booking Advice

We recommend booking flights directly with the carrier, rather than through a third party. Some tickets booked through third parties can be difficult to change due to unexpected events, such as inclement weather.

  • The $800 deposit secures your place and is non-refundable.

If you wish to cancel your trip, you must notify Angela and Bram via email. Once we’ve received your notice, cancellation will take effect subject to the following:

    • If cancellation takes place before September 1, 2025, any payments made will be refunded, minus your deposit.

    • If cancellation takes place on or after September 1, 2025, all payments will be forfeited and no refunds will be given.

    • Any refunds will incur a 6% administrative cost

    • Always purchase travel insurance that covers your trip interruption, trip cancellation, luggage and/or valuables loss, and medical assistance, including repatriation if necessary. We recommend travel insurance that includes "cancel for any reason" coverage.

    • Please ensure that your passport is valid, with at least 6 months until expiry, and that you are aware of immigration/visa laws in India.

    • Visas: As a US citizen, if you want to travel to India for tourism, you must obtain a visa in advance. We will send you the link to apply for a visa directly from the Indian government. You can also use a third-party service, if you want help applying for a visa.
